Ryunosuke and Koichi are brothers and best friends, but their lives are turned upside down when their parents' divorce and custody arrangements split them up. Twelve-year-old Koichi ends up with his mother, while younger brother, Ryunosuke, moves in with his dad, a struggling musician who can't keep a job. The brothers miss each other and want to bring their parents back together, but it seems hopeless until they hear of a strange superstition.

The urban legend has it, if two people make the same wish at the same time while watching two bullet trains pass one another, the wish will immediately come true. However, arranging for the proper circumstances is harder than they first thought. It's going to take duping their parents, skipping school and racing across the country - plus accepting help from a few friends with wishes of their own - to create the perfect setup for Koichi and Ryunosuke's powerful wish.
